Coral lips = more prominent eyes?

Want to highlight your eyes, the beauty experts recommend orange lipstick. Here’s why.

Beautiful woman with makeup

Ever tried to put on coral lipstick and noticed there is something different about your face? Specifically the eyes? Well, turns our addiction to this trendy shade of lipstick is not just based on colour preference.

As Olivier Tissot, makeup expert from Rimmel explains, coral and orange shades do make our eyes stand out more.

“It is an optical effect. The coral in the most vivid shades (eg.flourescent) tends to cool down the face. As it is a very warm colour, it makes the rest of the face looks dull and the eyes become more prominent as a result.”

The coral is also very trendy for summer because it highlights slightly tanned or very tanned skin. However, it is a little more difficult to pull off when the skin is pale.

A warm skin tone

We’d advise you to warm up your skin if necessary. Apply a little blush or bronzer on the forehead, cheekbones and chin. It should bring a balance with the warm colors. Also, be careful of the color differences between the concealer and foundation. Avoid shades that are too light. It should be the exact same color so as not to highlight the dark circles under the eyes.

An iridescent coral

Opt for a coral shade that is slightly iridescent and certainly not matte. It can be a beaded texture, glossy or even fruity as long as it is lively! Make sure the coral is more pink and less yellow because it will allow a prettier complexion.”
