Would you wash your face with carbonated water?

If you are struggling with clogged pores and lackluster skin, switch up your usual cleansing routine with carbonated water.

When it comes to switching up our skincare routine, we’re always on the lookout for new and effective trends. While there are many facial products for washing and cleansing your face available in the market, Asian countries such as Korea and Japan are washing their faces using sparkling or carbonated water. Yes you read that right. Soda water or even club soda can be used to cleanse your face.

The idea behind it is really easy. The bubbles present in sparkling water can help to stimulate your skin and provide oxygen. This helps to cleanse and keep the skin healthy. The numerous bubbles created is great for pore-cleansing and the removal of dead skin.

Try it for yourself: simply fill a bowl with one part carbonated water and mix it with an equal part of H20. Cleanse your face using the solution, using splashing motions. You should do it for a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes and no more than twice a week to avoid any potential irritation. If this routine is too much of a hassle, mix the solution and use it as a toner. Simply dab the product on a cotton round and apply it as you would your regular toner.

As with any skincare trend, stick to it for a month or so and you’ll see your skin not only appearing brighter but firmer.
