If you love fashion here’s why you should watch Zoolander 2

15 years after the first Zoolander, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are back at it again.

Always so questionable but really in the know, the modeling duo, Derek Zoolander and Hansel, return to the big screens.

In this second installment, they undergo a runway challenge in which both of them clash mercilessly. In Zoolander 2 , they are united against the formidable fashion world , determined to again be under the spotlight of the runways. But before they get to shine on the podium, the two friends will have to embark on the hunt for a serial killer pop star alongside Valentina Valencia, Member of the Fashion Police Interpol.

This is satire that’s even sweeter when you’re a real fashion addict.

AN INSPIRING FASHION SHOW

Better than streetstyle or a fashion show, this second part turns out to be truly inspiring in terms of fashion. Leesa Evans , the designer of the film took care of every detail, up to the coordinating gloves for Derek Zoolander. In addition to these ultra-slicked outfits inspired by the latest collections of the biggest luxury homes, there were ultra-eccentric costumes, which were as ridiculous as they were sumptuous.

CREAM OF THE CROP OF FASHION

Not everyone accepted but most influential designers trusted Leesa Evans by lending their creations. The first to come to them? Valentino who dressed Derek Zoolander head to toe and allowed them to film a scene during their fashion show last March. It also retains Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten, Balmain and Haider Ackermann. Luxury homes have proven to be rather enthusiastic to be part of the film. Some have not hesitated to lend some of their samples or leave blank check to the stylist when she wished to make changes to some of their creations.

ANNA WINTOUR COMES ONBOARD

Contacted by Ben Stiller to play herself in this second part of Zoolander, the US Vogue’s Editor was legendary. Anna Wintour’s part in the film sees a diabolical jury in search of eternal youth and will do anything to achieve her ends. It’s a role that echoes the cult of youth which is plaguing the fashion world and that says something about the self-deprecating capacity of the female pope of fashion. Designers like Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Valentino all agreed to make an appearance in the film as well. Who said fashion had no humor?
