The first art fair of its kind, expect excellent contemporary works in the form of photography, video and design.

An art fair like no other that Singapore has ever seen, featuring the works of 120 artists from 30 different countries, MIA&D aims to be a platform for up and coming young artists, as well as a melting pot for art enthusiasts – spanning across three mediums  – photography, video and design.

The first of its kind in the region, the exhibition is expected to strengthen Singapore’s aim of being the central art hub in the Asia Pacific region.

Some of the highlights of the art fair include a photography and video art exhibition called Water/Life Line, featuring stunning works shot along the Mekong and telling diverse stories from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, a talk by Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) on “Collecting Photography”, as well as a unique talk on socially-conscious art and legal issues relating to art by Cristina Manasse and Lam Chung Nian.

This broad-based exhibition seemingly covers a spectrum of interest areas for both the art collector as well as the general public, looking for a different but entirely insightful thing to do.

MIA&D Fair will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 24 – 26 October 2014
