With celebrity high rollers playing a game of craps, Karl Lagerfeld nailed it yet again with a chic casino set for the Fall 2015 couture collection.

Gambling is bad. That is until you see what a Chanel casino looks like then, well, it couldn’t hurt to take a quick gamble.

And that is exactly what happened at Chanel’s Fall 2015 couture show as Kristen Stewart emerged almost tentatively into the space. After she took a seat at a table, she was swiftly followed by Karl’s entire entourage: Geraldine Chaplin, Lily Collins, Lily-Rose Depp, Rita Ora, Lara Stone, Vanessa Paradis, Stella Tennant, and Julianne Moore. With that, the heat was on and everyone felt like they were about to win big.

So while the impeccably dressed high rollers threw dices and placed their bets, models took over the art deco-inspired are in an almost robotic fashion with their blushed out cheeks, stark brows and severe blunt-cut wigs. Though noting that some of the pieces were manipulated by computers – be it printing or lasers shaping the quilted fabric – the mechanic impression quickly became fairly logical.

As the collection moved from stiff boxy-cut jacket and skirt combinations to shimmery dresses loaded with textures, it was evident that the looks screamed business. As for the closing look, that honour went to 19 year-old Kendall Jenner who took to the centre as the couture bride, spiffily decked in a double breasted white suit and a veil that floated behind her.

Ultimately, Karl Lagerfeld always seems to nail current issues right in the head – what with the fashionable feminist rally for SS15. This time the casino and gambling metaphor could not be any more fitting as the world’s money markets are also seemingly playing out to be quite the risky casino ride. So even though Karl mentioned that the inspiration for the set spurned from him always taking a gamble with his collections, we’re going to go with the real-world influence and applaud the Kaiser for his ingenuity yet again.

Is there anything he can’t pull off?
