VeganBurg’s new Hari Raya burger features Singapore’s first vegan sunny side up

We can’t wait to sink our teeth into this vegan goodness.

Frankly, any VeganBurg-related headline truly piques our fancy.

After all, this international plant-based burger chain (which got its start in Singapore before expanding into the US), is responsible for vegan burgers that give you that some satisfaction that only fast food, traditionally meaty burgers can offer for us non-vegans and non-vegetarians.

In honour of the upcoming Hari Raya festivities, VeganBurg has introduced a new burger called the Rasa Sayang Burg (which translates to “Feel the Love” in Malay). It’s making headlines because – get this: the burger is topped with a sunny-side-up vegan egg – a first for Singapore.

The Rasa Sayang Burg

The burger itself features a plant-based patty topped with lettuce, cucumber slices, sweet caramelized onions, vegan aioli, a ‘kampong samba’ sauce, and the vegan egg, all of which are beautifully sandwiched together in between two wholemeal vegan hamburger slices.

The patty is completely vegan and meat-free, of course, and is whipped up using a breaded chick ‘n’ wheat protein based, which is cooked and seasoned to a crispy perfection to achieve that classic chicken patty crunch. Wolf it down with their classic Coconut Fries and Rose Bandung drink – both of which are unique to Singapore’s VeganBurg.

Alex Tan, founder of VeganBurg, shared in a press release, “Celebrating diversity is a big part of what we do at VeganBurg and the Rasa Sayang Burg is the perfect tribute to Singapore’s diverse multi-cultural food heritage. For many, we’re certain that the Rasa Sayang Burg will bring to their delight a familiar taste of Southeast Asia.”

Don’t idle in sinking your teeth into this goodness, though; the Rasa Sayang Burg will only be available for two months at VeganBurg Singapore. And for our Muslim readers, you’ll know where to make a date at to break your fast this coming Ramadhan!
