A new, unique and very LA-way to enjoy the latest indoor cycling fad right here in Singapore.

Cycling fever seems to have hit Singapore – big time. The latest addition to the cycling and spinning fad is Krewfit’s latest spin concept and studio, CruCycle– brainchild and baby of the Ding siblings – Valerie, Calvin and Beatrice. Intelligently named ‘Cru’ after the ‘developing and maturing of an individual, mentally, physically and spiritually’, which any vigorous exercise involves, the studio was launched to introduce the unique LA spinning studio vibe to the bustling Duxton area.

CruCycle embodies what makes LA’s fitness and healthcare scene so special. With a husky mascot named Bandit as its brand ambassador to fit the studio’s ‘ride with the pack’ theme – emphasising the wolf mentality – the workout experience is aimed at togetherness. Since the workouts are carried out in a group, the instructors are viewed as the ‘leaders of the pack’, whilst the rest of the class, the pack who follows and rides along. The dynamic group focus is a unique part of CruCycle’s vision and through cycling in a group in a dark room, riders are challenging themselves and each other whilst being in sync – and in essence is what they strive to achieve – “Together, We’re Stronger”

A typical class is fifty minutes long and is a high-powered, sweat-inducing workout. Riders are encouraged to work all their muscles and challenge themselves to push the boundaries, in order to sculpt their ideal body. The class is conducted in a dark room, to the beat of music. The music starts out slowly at the beginning of the ride and builds up to catchier beats and riders have to ultimately cycle according to the rhythm. The studio offers two main types of rides – an Introductory Ride for beginners, that teaches the methods and exercises involved in an indoor cycling class and The Pack Ride for riders looking to up the challenge where light weights and core exercises are incorporated into the workout above, beyond the cycling. Additionally, the studio hosts an occasional Charity Event Ride for members of all levels, where proceeds will go towards a foundation of choice and Private Rides are available upon request and to each rider’s convenience – this can include private events, birthdays and special occasions.

The instructors are all extremely motivating and cycling in a dark environment close to one-another encourages this group dynamic that we haven’t really noticed in other spinning studios. Whilst some studios might focus on doing it to up cardio levels and for the rider to have fun whilst working out, CruCycle aims a little higher by encouraging riders to work together and get better in every aspect, as a team.

To add to the appeal factor, the studio’s locker rooms are equipped with rain shower heads, Malin+Goetz baubles, plenty of amenities and fresh fruit for a post work-out snack! How thoughtful!

In addition to all these perks, by becoming a CruCycle member, you are also becoming a philanthropist in your own right. A dollar from each paying rider is donated to one of CruCycle’s pre-selected charity members – such as the Ding siblings various animal welfare-collaboration charities. The siblings plan on expanding Krewfit to include more such fitness and lifestyle endeavours.

CruCycle is more than an invigorating spinning experience for an individual, it’s a communal fitness experience.
