It’s every book lover’s dream.

The Pavillon de Lettres hotel in Paris might just be every book lover’s dream. Translating to “lodge of letters” in English, this charming and quintessentially French hotel actually lets you order books through room service.

If you’re itching for a new read during your stay, all you have to do is fill out a survey listing your literary preferences, after which the hotel staff will personally hand-deliver their recommended read of choice to your room, based on your response.

The hotel’s library houses a relatively exhaustive selection of genres – everything from novels to comic books, so rest assured that there is something for every literary palate. However, this is not the only reason why you’ll love it.

The modestly-sized Pavillon only has 26 rooms – one for each letter of the alphabet. It gets better: each room is named after a famous writer whose name starts with the corresponding letter. For instance, the first room whose alphabet is A is christened Andersen, (after the legend Hans Christian Anderson himself), S is named Shakespeare, H is Hugo after Victor Hugo… you get our drift.

Each room also has includes a book by the writer it was named after, with its walls peppered with their famous quotes. The quotes are, of course, in French – but that only adds to the vibe, we reckon.

Given that Paris is unequivocally one of the world’s most acclaimed literary capitals, it seems only apt that a city so steep in literary history warrants you to stay in such a hotel. So for the bibliophiles out there – the next time you’re in Paris, book a stay in the Pavillon!
