Seriously, can you believe how quickly one year has passed since the last time we all had fun on the 5<sup>th<\/sup> of May? To those who are new to this festival, Cinco de Mayo (literally means the fifth of May) is an annual celebration to commemorate the Mexican army\u2019s success in defending the Puebla city from the French army \u2013 back in 1862. Although Cinco de Mayo is not a big deal in Mexico \u2013 except the city of Puebla itself \u2013 it has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/best-mexican-restaurants-kuala-lumpur-226616.html#item=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gained popularity elsewhere<\/a> like in the US and of course, our very own Singapore.<\/p> <p>Typically, the Cinco de Mayo fiesta involves everything Mexican \u2013 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/authentic-charm-5-best-mexican-restaurants-in-singapore-161874.html#item=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">food<\/a> to lots and lots of margarita and tequila, to music and dance.
