With some help from Chef-owner Ryan Clift, together they introduced an international new menu in June of this year.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p> <p>The latest menu draws inspiration from all across the world. By melding complexity with comfort, the new menu will give diners an exciting yet heartening experience.<\/p> <p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u201cI\u2019ve hit my stride with bolder, more adventurous and refined dishes,\u201d <\/em>said Chef Daniele<em>, \u201cI\u2019m constantly inspired by other cultures and ingredients, and I\u2019ve also found a wealth of ideas in local Singapore flavours.\u201d <\/em><\/p> <p>And evidently the dishes are\u00a0littered with proof of Chef Daniele\u2019s statement. One of which is the inspired and creative starter, the Guacamole Risotto (SGD20). While it may sound like a dish of heavy flavours, it was surprisingly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/health\/on-my-plate\/healthy-eating\/bright-eyes-food-eat-healthy-eyes-133065.html\">bright<\/a>, sprightly and an overall joy to taste.<\/p> <p>Other new starters in the menu include the moist and succulent<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/best-chilli-crabs-town-107603.html\"> Crab<\/a> Cakes (SGD20) and Warm Octopus Terrine (SGD20). The latter is an excellent example of the possibility of having an octopus that is not at all rubbery and packed with flavour.<\/p> <p>From fresh barramundi and tender kangaroo to pasta and risotto, the array of stellar mains available on the new menu will leave you spoilt for choice. The stand out of the entr\u00e9e selection is definitely the Braised Beef Cheek (SGD32). Slow-cooked for 48 hours, the result is fork tender meat bursting with umami flavours.<\/p> <p>Though not as fancy as the other dishes on the menu, the Paglia e fieno Taglierini (SGD20) stood out despite its humble ingredients and plating. The pasta of is handmade and the taste is deeply rustic, making the earnest dish feel extremely personal.<\/p> <p>A good meal definitely has to end with a delectable dessert to be considered perfect. If you like rustic flavours with a twist, try the Eight-Spice Apple Crumble (SGD18) that is double-baked to crisp perfection. The spice adds an Asian flair to all-American dessert, making it a unique experience.<\/p> <p>For <em>serious<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/cosy-cuppa-hot-chocolates-hug-inside-133260.html\">chocolate-lovers<\/a>, the Passion Fruit and Chocolate Tart (SGD18) is a home run. Chef Daniele mixes passion fruit and chocolate together to coax a rich layered flavour from the tart. As a Willy Wonka-esque surprise, he even sprinkled a pinch of pop rocks for a cheeky twist.<\/p> <p>A meal at Open Door Policy is one you won\u2019t be quick to forget, with its cosy and inviting interiors, refreshing drinks and superb food. We definitely hope to be dropping by again.
