Oscar-nominated designer, Suneet Varma, was chosen as this month\u2019s contributor to Faces by The Satorialist. Varma contributed two fashion illustrations to the digital fashion platform that combined his love for fantasy and eyewear<\/a>.<\/p>

The first illustration depicts an Indian princess dressed in stunning\u00a0Indian brocade, rich silks and banarasi fabrics detailed with Indian motifs. On top of her outfits, she adorns a turban topped with a bejewelled feather. Varma describes his character as facing a dilemma choosing a pair of glasses<\/a> to go with her turban. In the end, she chooses a pair of simple black glasses in contrast to her elaborate dressing.<\/p>

The designer\u2019s second piece is a portrait of the princess in an intricate turban made with 3D pieces like ribbons, flowers, sequins and crystals. The pair of glasses Varma designs for her this time is a scalloped frame the designer describes as \u201can enchanted paisley\u201d.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019ve always believed that there is certain amount of fantasy that\u2019s attached to my artistic imagination that keeps me inspired,\u201d <\/em>said Varma, \u201cThese two fashion illustrations display my belief as an artist and designer and highlight fashion and fantasy which is both elaborate and theatrical.\u201d <\/em><\/p>

Faces by The Sartorialist is a digital platform that is the brainchild of Luxottica Group and Scott Schuman, founder of popular fashion blog The Sartorialist.\u00a0The platform features his photography<\/a> of stylish individuals in interesting eyewear.<\/p>

Since this year, the site has also gone on to feature several creative individuals of different artistic disciplines from all over the world such as Italian fashion journalist, Angelo Flaccavento and British Visual and makeup artist, Alex Box.<\/p>
