There's nothing more frustrating than having to re-apply your lipstick every time you take a sip of your coffee. Which is why long-wearing lipsticks have come to become one of our best beauty friends. With more brand churning out lasting formulas, finding the ideal one tends to be quite the\u00a0challenge. While the shade may be beautiful and the staying power phenomenal, it may nonetheless be drying, patchy and difficult to remove.<\/a><\/p>

So just what makes a good long-wearing lip colour? All it needs to be is pigmented, moisturizing, smooth and not patchy on application.<\/p>

HOW TO ensure your lipstick stays put?<\/span> <\/h2>

Even though a product is formulated to be long-wearing, it is essential to apply the product using the right techniques to ensure optimal use and longevity. Start off by exfoliating your lips and prepping them\u00a0with lip balm. Allow the lip balm to sit for some time while you proceed to do the rest of your makeup. Once you are ready to apply your lip colour, coat your lips with the product. For better precision, use a lip brush.<\/p>

It is important to be light handed when applying the product as long-wearing lip colours\u00a0tend to be pigmented and cause chunks of product to be accumulated on one portion of the lips. Next, build up the colour gradually till you are satisfied with the opacity. Finish off by blotting your lips using either an oil blotting <\/a>sheet or ply of tissue. This helps to lift any excess moisture sitting on the lips from the lip balm or lip colour.<\/p>
