Swedish skincare series Verso will finally be available in Singapore this coming November thanks to local beauty boutique escentials.<\/p>

The skincare<\/a> line redefined anti-aging when it was launched in 2013. The products were the first to contain Retinol 8, a patented vitamin A derivative more stable than traditional retinol. Currently the line only has seven items, including the luxurious Verso Super Facial Oil and editor favourite, Verso Super Facial Serum.<\/p>

Founder Lars Fredriksson, who was trained in finance and marketing, is the brain behind skincare brands such a sRestylane Skincare and Swedish Skincare System. He created Verso\u00a0after discovering Retinol 8 in a medical journal.<\/p>

Till its discovery, retinol has been proven to be the most effective substance to combat aging<\/a>. Unfortunately, it does have side effects such as irritating the skin<\/a> and reacting to sunlight. Retinol 8 however, does not and is eight times more potent than retinol.\u00a0Using the knowledge of this magical ingredient, Fredriksson set out to prove that reversing the signs was possible by creating a modern and minimalist skincare range.<\/p>

Marie France Asia<\/em> sits down with Fredriksson to learn more about his brand and the\u00a0magical ingredient.<\/p>

Maries France Asia: What made you decide to start your own company in the beauty industry? <\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

Lars Fredriksson:<\/strong> I wanted to create skincare that would reflect the Scandinavian beauty. High quality products in designed packaging. Less is more!<\/p>

MFA: It felt like Verso came out of nowhere when people started talking about it. How does Verso stand out in such a saturated market?<\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.:<\/strong> It\u2019s the simplistic approach to skincare. No need for long and extensive routines, but good and high quality products that will be able bring out the best.<\/p>

MFA: What is the inspiration behind Verso? \u2028<\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.:<\/strong> Beautiful skin does not have to be time consuming or complicated. I\u2019m married with three children and always busy. Many friends of mind are in the same situation.<\/p>

MFA: Is Retinol 8 the anti-aging ingredient we have been waiting for or\u2028could there be a better, more improved ingredient we have yet to discover? <\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.:<\/strong> Retinol 8 has great benefits compared to standard Retinol, being less aggressive and less UV sensitive. I am sure we will see more great products being developed. Stay tuned!<\/p>

MFA: Is Verso the alternative to Retin-A? \u2028<\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.:<\/strong> Verso is a cosmetic product and shall not be compared to a pharmaceutical drug. Verso is a great alternative or option for someone who is looking for high quality anti-aging skincare with proven efficacy. Vitamin A is known as the \u201cGolden Standard\u201d of anti-aging. I think each person should use at least one Vitamin A-based cream everyday because Vitamin A has such great effects on the skin, and Verso is a good alternative due to its benefits.<\/p>

MFA: If a woman could only buy one of your products which would you recommend as a must have and why? \u2028<\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.: Our effective Verso Super Eye Serum is my choice. This will make the eye area more radiant and glowing, making you look more alert and vivid. Also, this product can be\u00a0used all over the face.<\/p>

MFA: Do you have any skincare secrets to share \u2013 especially for Singapore\u2019s weather? <\/strong><\/span> <\/h2>

L.F.: Use fewer products and do not layer too much. Make sure you cleanse your skin thoroughly.<\/p>
