Just when we thought makeup couldn't get more complicated (what with all the new terms such as strobing, baking, clown contouring<\/a> and the like), it just did. Contouring and highlighting are easy concepts to understand \u00a0- contour powder for adding shadow to the face, highlighters for adding light to the face - but have you really grasped the logic behind a good bronzer?<\/p>

Often confused with contour powder, bronzers come in both luminous, shimmery forms alongside its matte siblings. The idea behind applying a bronzer is to fake your most natural tan - think weekend getaway to Bali<\/a> spent entirely in the sun - in order to get a healthy glow.<\/p>

HOW TO APPLY<\/span> <\/h2>

Unlike a contour powder, bronzers shouldn't be too far off from your skin tone, so you can often get away with applying it all over your face for the ultimate sun-kissed look. Grab a fluffy brush (rounded cheek brushes are usually the perfect size), swirl it in your powder and tap off the excess or swipe it on the back of your hand to evenly distribute the product throughout the brush. Afterwards, begin sweeping it across the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks and chin lightly if you're desperate to bring the warmth back in your face after a long week at the office. Alternatively, you can also lightly sculpt your features by brushing over your eyelids and creating a number 3-shape from the temples, to the cheekbones and jawline.<\/p>

To make the look even more\u00a0realistic, add a hint of cream blush on the parts of your face you would normally get sunburnt - which normally comprise of the nose bridge and tops of the cheeks - and blend it over with your foundation.<\/p>
