{"id":339494,"date":"2015-06-03T17:13:07","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T09:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/uncategorized-hk\/meatliquor-american-comfort-food-finest-339494.html"},"modified":"2019-05-03T17:31:10","modified_gmt":"2019-05-03T09:31:10","slug":"meatliquor-american-comfort-food-finest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/hk\/food-hk\/hot-spots-hk\/meatliquor-american-comfort-food-finest-339494.html","title":{"rendered":"MEATliquor opens in Singapore with American comfort food"},"content":{"rendered":"  <p>As if we Singaporeans aren't already spoilt for choice when it comes to good, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/dishing-out\/burger-mania-10-best-burgers-town-97902.html\">juicy burgers<\/a>, another excellent burger chain has made its way to our shores.\u00a0MEATliquor, the edgy\u00a0British\u00a0burger chain famed for their messy burgers\u00a0and killer cocktails have planted their first overseas outlet at a cosy corner unit in Duxton Hill.<\/p> <p>Founded\u00a0in 2009 by Scott Collins and Yianni Papoutsis,\u00a0MEATliquor is all about getting back to the basics of good ol' American comfort <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/lifelove\/decoding\/food-reveals-character-20366.html#post-20366\">food<\/a>. There's no mention of wagyu on the menu and\u00a0the\u00a0burgers are served on a canteen tray, with no utensils, and good old tissue roll instead of\u00a0snazzy napkins. However, it's substance, not style that has put the burger chain in the Top 100 Restaurants at the National Restaurant Awards for three years straight.<\/p> <p>Expect to see tried and tested classics from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/destination-accomplished\/ready-london-calling-10-things-british-capital-93362.html#post-93362\">London <\/a>chain such as\u00a0The Dead Hippie, Dirty Chicken Burger, Deep-Fried Pickles and Chili Cheese Fries. Asian-inspired bites, like sambal fries, soft shell crab and sambal wings made from locally sourced ingredients will be making their debut on the\u00a0MEATliquor SINgapore menu as well.<\/p> <p>Last week, we had the opportunity to try out some of the burgers and side dishes on offer and boy did we leave feeling stuffed.
