Hedi Slimane has always been the designer to watch. Following his creative stint at Dior Homme where he made popular the skinny silhouette in menswear, the indie-rock obsessive has gone from stride to stride showcasing his music-inspired designs on the catwalks of the world.<\/p>

It's this ingenious creativity and subtle rebellion that made him the creative director of Saint Laurent<\/a>, a fledgling label he built from the bottom up. Some of his sartorial success from past seasons include glittery Mary Janes and suede Chelsea boots. Naturally the fashion<\/a> world sits up and takes notice when the Frenchman launches a new collection and right now, that collection is the latest women's Pre-Fall collection.<\/p>

Going into the winter months, Hedi has kept the tone sombre with dark hues, sleek silhouettes and sparse designs. There is the occasional sequined top and leopard print coat but nothing too wild or outlandish by the designer's standards. But then again, there is just no arguing with the appeal of a fitted blazer or a beautifully crafted leather jacket, both of which feature prominently in the campaign. Fronting the P<\/a>re-Fall<\/a> campaign is Austrian model Helena Saverin who does justice to the clothes with her poise and lanky frame.<\/p>

Unlike the bigger-scale Fall\/ Winter collections, this Pre-Fall collection\u00a0gives us a more personal take on the label and is something we can envision ourselves wearing off the runways.<\/p>
