There's a new dress trend in town, and it's sweeping the red carpet. Aside from their famous derrieres, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian now have something else in common. All three of them turned heads at the 2015 Met Gala<\/a> in their sexy sheer dresses.<\/p>

Indeed, the sheer trend from last spring looks to be making a comeback\u00a0this summer<\/a>, from subtle lace panels to completely transparent skirts that show off short shorts. Sheer fabrics allow us to show off our silhouettes in a sophisticated manner and decide whether to reveal a lot or just enough to leave room for the imagination. While this may seem like a trend more suitable for young people, anyone can embrace the sheer trend\u00a0if done the right way.<\/p>

Here's how to stay chic and classy while rocking the sheer look<\/a>.<\/p>

1. Layer it<\/span> <\/h2>

If your sheer outfit doesn't come with inner lining, pick skin coloured inner wear to conceal your modesty and at the same time retain the sexiness of the outfit. If you choose to do sheer at the office, be sure you're wearing a formal top beneath. Going head-to-toe in one colour also makes the sheerness of any one piece less noticeable.<\/p>

2. Length<\/span> <\/h2>

That golden rule where you either choose to show cleavage or legs but not both? Well the same applies here. If you're gonna show some skin, then it's best to leave the cleavage and mid-riff exposure for another day or risk being mistaken for a woman who turns tricks for a living.<\/p>

3. Comfort<\/span> <\/h2>

Another rule of thumb to go by when wearing sheer is to check if you're comfortable wearing the outfit. To find out, ask yourself if you'd be comfortable having this area exposed completely. If yes, then you've passed the classy\/modesty test. Generally, when it comes to sheer, it's best to stick to the arms, shoulders or\u00a0lower half of the legs. Nothing spoils an outfit more than a person not comfortable in their own skin.<\/p>
