PUPPY EYE VS. CAT EYE<\/span> <\/h2>

First we had the cat eye, and now we have the puppy eye. Just when you thought the beauty world has invented everything there is to come up with, the new Asian-eye enhancing makeup look is all the rage in Korea<\/a>, Japan, and now even appeals to a select few in our Southeast Asian region.<\/p>

As the way cat eye makeup looks intend to lift the eyes for a sultry, feline effect, puppy eye makeup is all about making the eyes appear rounder, larger and cuter. As our usually almond-shaped Asian eyes<\/a> are small and don't always benefit from the Western trend of cat eyeliner, some prefer to enhance their eyes with the methods of puppy eye makeup. So how does one achieve the look without accidentally crossing the line and turning it into a downright sad-eye experiment?<\/p>

GET THE LOOK<\/span> <\/h2>

Understand your eye shape and make a decision on what you want to enhance or conceal. Start with a light hand and use a dark eyeshadow instead of going straight into eyeliner - it's easier to control. With an angled brush, pick up some matte dark brown or black eyeshadow<\/a> and begin at the middle of the top eyelid.<\/p>

Work your way towards the outer corner of the eye and instead of flicking upwards at the end, continue to follow the natural lash line and extend downwards slightly. Make sure you're not leveling the tip of your line to the bottom most part of your lower lid - you'll risk looking a little too doll-like and it could end up in a mess.<\/p>

Connect that line to your lower lash line by mirroring the top line you just did on the bottom. Fill in any empty spaces and blend the outer edges\u00a0softly with a small blending brush. Now that you have the foundation for the perfect puppy eye look, the eyeshadow colours on the lids are entirely up to you.<\/p>
