Bag charms have reached cult status since the outbreak of key rings and fobs adorning the arm candies\u00a0of fashion's elite. We're not shy to blame designer\u00a0Karl Lagerfeld<\/a> on this one - the 'Karlito' fur bag charms have been selling like hotcakes under the Fendi<\/strong> brand\u00a0and are rumoured to still be churned out for the hundreds on its waiting list. It's what probably started all the fuss and obsession with playful charms on every 'It' handbag - from the Mulberry<\/strong> Alexas to the mini Herm\u00e8s<\/strong> slings\u00a0(what we may now affectionately call the ex-Birkin<\/a>).<\/p>

While we've yet to see a point in spending our pay checks (some retail for up to the\u00a0thousands\u00a0due to their exotic furs and skins) on what's reminiscent of our noisy primary school backpack<\/a>\u00a0trinkets, there's no denying it's a stellar way of distinguishing your\u00a0handbag from the rest. The covetable novelty charms add a kitschy, whimsical flair to serious totes and sombre-coloured caryalls.<\/p>

Accidentally find your handbag being matchy-matchy with a fellow colleague at work? Latch on a colourful little fur pom-pom or chihuahua-print charm and voila<\/em>, everyone knows whose bag\u00a0is whose.<\/p>
