You would think that by now Karl Lagerfeld has too much on his plate, what with his eponymous line, Chanel Couture,<\/a> Ready-To-Wear, Pre-Fall, Cruise and\u00a0M\u00e9tiers d\u2019Art collections as well as Fendi's<\/a> usual Ready-To-Wear, Pre-Fall and Cruise lines, but no, he just had to go on and design a couture collection for Fendi too.<\/p>

Though fur is still a hotly debated and controversial material in the industry, the Italian house which is well known for utilising the luxe material made an obvious decision to showcase fur as the focal point of their debut couture collection. So debuting yesterday, the 'Haute Fourrure', High Fur Collection was hands down one fuzzy extravaganza.<\/p>

The 36 looks featured floor length mink coats, colourful stoles, gowns with furry skirts and a myriad of textured dresses adorned with what looked like feathers on the neckline. While most of the pieces came in stark monochrome shades of\u00a0icy grey and jet black, there were also some injections of peach hues which offered a softer, more comforting outlook.<\/p>

Marking Lagerfeld's <\/a>50th anniversary of designing for the House of Fendi, it's safe to say he has marked it with one big bang. Further escalated by the activists who were outside the show venue\u00a0aggressively shouting and parading images of abuse to animals, in hopes of questioning of the ostentatious use of fur.<\/p>

Nonetheless, we're guessing show goers were far from deterred because as Lagerfeld sighed to the Financial Times, \"As long as people eat meat and wear leather... I don\u2019t see the thing...<\/em>\"<\/p>
