2015 is proving to be a good food year for Singapore, with the World Gourmet Summit, Savour Food Festival<\/a>, World Street Food Congress and many other foodie events that were\u00a0hosted in the Lion City in the last 6 months itself.<\/p>

Now, brace yourselves for yet another culinary escapade as the first ever Singapore Restaurant Month<\/strong> brings you the best 50 restaurants in town, showcasing their most unique culinary creations.<\/p>

Organized by the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS)<\/strong>, the inaugural event held from 1 July to 10 August<\/strong> will be celebrating Singapore\u2019s 50th<\/sup> National Day with a wide variety of cuisines \u2013Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, French, American, Spanish and more - to reflect the cosmopolitan culinary scene we\u2019re accustomed to.<\/p>

While food <\/a>is no doubt the highlight of Singapore Restaurant Month, the event comes with a positive twist: all participating restaurants are to use only local produce in their gastronomic creations.<\/p>

In a country that imports most of its food from abroad, this is certainly a welcome push by the powers that be to support local farms and raise awareness of the quality of local produce for F&B operators. In short, the move is a great stepping stone for the local culinary industry and a better way to enjoy fresher food.<\/p>

Some of the participating restaurants are traditional heritage eateries\u00a0such as\u00a0Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant, Red Star Restaurant, and Islamic Restaurant.<\/p>

So fellow Singaporeans<\/a>, seize the opportunity to support local produce and savour unique dishes from the best 50 restaurants in your backyard!<\/p>

As far as #SG50 celebrations go, this is probably the most Singaporean of them all!<\/p>
