\u201cThe smell of a freshly printed book is the best smell in the world.\"<\/em> \u00a0We couldn't agree more with Karl Lagerfeld. There is also something so alluring about the scent <\/a>of hundred-year-old-books and decaying parchment. Whether it\u2019s a sentence on the sweet aroma of baking bread, a lover\u2019s perfume, or the fresh smell of rain, the different scents that waft through the writer\u2019s imagination take form in beautifully descriptive prose that has us smelling what the author describes. Books such as Perfume<\/em> by Patrick Suskind, or Jitterbug Perfume<\/em> by Tom Robbins centre around various olfactory wonders, and it\u2019s rare to find a single book that does not mention scent in some fashion<\/a>.<\/p>

Perfumers have since come up with their olfactory interpretation of literature and poetry so you can now surround yourself or your abode with that elusive paper aroma<\/a>. If you're a true bibliophile, you might just find the scent of your favourite book or character that captured your heart!<\/p>
