In an ode to create some respite in the ballooning fashion industry that churns out an increasing amount of textile waste, H&M's Conscious Exclusive<\/strong> collections serve to incorporate eco-friendly fabrics <\/a>and recycled materials to create equally beautiful designs. While the Swedish retail giant<\/a> bases its entire model on fast fashion, the brand is nonetheless actively\u00a0making strides in the right direction with these worthwhile ventures as well.<\/p>

The Spring 2015 Conscious Exclusive collection sees a a raw and unfettered approach to eco-friendly fashion by using untreated leather or having loose threads purposely hanging free. Additionally, beyond fabrics, influences from Japanese draping to African-inspired embellishment are a plenty in the pieces - perhaps also signaling that sustainable fashion needs to be a global concern.<\/p>

Now, while the collection appears simplistic on first look, they are in fact laden with intriguing details and cuts that give them the much needed edge. Some of the more striking pieces include a tuxedo jacket in 100% organic mulberry silk that mixes masculine with feminine subtleties, and features an open seam cut on the inside of each sleeve to look like a cape of sorts; a\u00a0sleeveless organic cotton top that's decorated with rows of macram\u00e9 detailing and tied at the sides to look like a versatile piece of modern armour; and a sleeveless dress that's folded like Japanese origami with brushstrokes that mimic an artistic landscape.<\/p>

Sustainable, <\/a>wearable, versatile and yet elegant on all counts, perhaps this is the vein that fashion should eagerly seek to flow through.<\/p>

H&M Conscious Exclusive Spring 2015 collection will be available in stores from 16 April.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>
