So on a daily basis, we're in the office blasting tunes <\/a>through the speaker - yes our office lives are pretty fantastic - and while we've yet to disagree on the choice of music,<\/a> we figure\u00a0the day that we squabble over the remote will only come sooner than later.<\/p>

That got us talking about favourite songs, genres and well, singers and lo and behold, we all had fairly different tastes. So if you want to know what's constantly on our playlist,<\/a> here are Marie France Asia's favourite musicians.<\/p>

Rana - Editor-in-Chief\"DSC_0499edited\"<\/span><\/h2>
Frank Sinatra<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

\"Just like in fashion, my taste in music is quite eclectic. From classic to alternative, old to new - I listen to anything and everything depending on my mood (except Justin Bieber that is). It's really hard to pick one musician as my favourite as I grew up listening to Arabic, English and French music equally and in each genre and language, I have a few favourites. But for the sake of this piece I'd say Frank Sinatra. 'It's not cheesy, it's classic', that's how Mr. Big describes Sinatra's music to Carrie in one of the\u00a0Sex and the City\u00a0<\/em>episodes and I couldn't agree more. Sinatra's music stood the test of time and doesn't cease to make me dream and transport me back in time to a far more elegant era where people seemed to enjoy life more and their favourite pastime involved things like theatre and dancing rather than stalking others on Facebook. So, cheesy as it may sound, a warm post-work bath, scented candles, a glass of good wine and Sinatra is my idea of attainable heaven!\"<\/p>

Laura Marling<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

\"There's just something about Laura Marling's alluring voice that enthralls you and leaves you wanting to listen on loop. Her song\u00a0Ghosts\u00a0<\/em>is probably my favourite of the bunch but in all honestly, they're all done with so much emotion and\u00a0reaches deep into anyone's soul.\"<\/p>

John Mayer<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

\"I was torn between a few musicians but I must say John Mayer is my favourite. The man is so talented! He looks effortless performing on stage, strumming his guitar like they are one\u2026 Did you know he improvises when he plays with his band? So they pretty much watch him and rely on their intuition as they play along. Another thing is that John Mayer's lyrics are so well thought of and relatable. One of my favourites is Slow Dancing in A Burning Room<\/em> \u2014 it talks about being stuck in a loving yet toxic relationship that is going nowhere, comparable to when you\u2019re slow dancing in a burning room.\"<\/p>

Lady Gaga<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

\"I love Lady Gaga and I am proud to say I am a little monster. Her pop career might have faltered a little bit, but I loved her comeback with Tony Bennet and of course, who can forget that versatile performance of The Sound of Music<\/em> at the Grammy Awards this year? I adore her so much I even went as her during Halloween once, blonde wig and all! My favourite song from her is definitely Speechless<\/em> (it is my go to karaoke song too) from the Fame Monster album. People underestimate her voice, and it is time for Mother Monster to shine as she is.\"<\/p>

It's hard to pick a favourite Beyonce song but Drunk in Love<\/em> from her self titled album is one I have yet to get sick of.\u00a0\"<\/p>

\"She pens her songs with stunningly honest lyrics which sometimes makes you flinch, but describes accurately how one might truly feel. That, to me, is the power of her music. I admire how she manages to convey so much emotion in her tone and the creative imagery that she uses in her lyrics.\"<\/p>

\"Beyonce\u2019s songs have an indescribable sincerity in them that I just can\u2019t seem to put a finger on. Every time she releases a new single, it just has its way of hitting home, and making me feel empowered after listening. While her more dance-y tracks like Who Run The World<\/em>, in which she looked absolutely gorgeous in a McQueen number from the Savage Beauty collection, was a crowd pleaser, my favourite has got to be Listen<\/em> from the soundtrack of Dream Girls<\/em>. Blessed with one of the warmest smiles and the biggest of hearts in the industry, Queen B is hands down my favourite - and most respected - musician of all time.\"<\/div>
