When we say Italian, what comes to mind? We're guessing a polished sense of style<\/a>, cheese and pasta. Well, there's another sweet thing the fascinating country is famous for and that's the absolutely divine gelato. We bet you didn't know there's a Gelato Museum in Bologna.<\/p>

Held for the first time in Asia, the second edition of Gelato World Tour<\/strong> will be kicking off in Singapore this weekend, with 16 gelato chefs\u00a0competing for the grand World Best Gelato<\/strong> title.<\/p>

With 6 artisans from Singapore vying for the award, including a Singapore Sling flavour by Charles Tan of FATCAT Ice Cream Bar, workshops, a museum and interactive activities, the Gelato Village<\/strong> is set to be quite the ideal heaven for dessert lovers.<\/a><\/p>

Just remember, don't make the mistake of asking these artisans for ice cream, it's gelato. There's a difference. If you're not sure about the difference then all the more you should make your way down to learn everything about this dessert from the masters themselves.<\/p>

So if you had something else planned for the weekend, scrap that and make room for something a little more delectable. Here are 5 things you should not miss<\/a> at the Asian leg of the Gelato World Tour 2.0.<\/p>

The Gelato World Tour will be held from 20 - 22 March, 12 - 9pm at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre Hall D. Entry to the venue is free but a SGD12 ticket will entitle you to 8 tasting portions.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>
