One of the best ways for designers to make inroads into an industry is to present their\u00a0wares at a specially curated tradeshow where buyers of leading retailers, multi-label boutiques and online stores come to source for the next brand\u00a0to bring under their wing.<\/p>

In Singapore, <\/a>Blueprint Tradeshow is one such event that gathers\u00a0Asia's emerging and established labels as well as ropes in international designers who are pining for a piece of the Asian markets. This year, in its 6th edition, the trade event will take place from 14 - 15 May<\/strong> with a carefully selected pool of designers who will be presenting their Pre-Spring or Cruise collections.<\/a><\/p>

Spearheaded by Project Director, Fay Nwokobia-Rees<\/strong>, former Head of Business Development for L\u2019Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Buyer Manager Consultant, Melanie Keys<\/strong> who boasts of 15 years\u00a0of buyer experience at retailers such as Macy\u2019s and Saks Fifth Avenue, Blueprint is no doubt in expert hands to propel designers to higher pedestals.<\/p>

Featuring both ready-to-wear and accessory labels, they will each be grouped according to 7 style categories - Feminine Chic, Modern Minimalist, Classic, Avant Garde, Bespoke Tailored, Sports, and Urban Streetwear.<\/p>

Debuting this year, Singaporean label,<\/a>\u00a0Q Menswear<\/strong>\u00a0caters to the modern gentleman's wardrobe needs and also offers up\u00a0bespoke services such as custom tailoring according to your silhouette. And returning for the second time, Singapore-based jewellery brand, Joanne L.<\/strong> will be presenting her handcrafted pieces that are inspired by\u00a0nature, geometry and contemporary architecture.<\/p>

In line with the new direction, Blueprint will also launch the Designer Education Series<\/strong> which includes a slew\u00a0of webinars and networking sessions to highlight key topics through the eyes of buyers. This will not only give designers an insider look into what buyers are looking for when sourcing but also equip them with better industry knowledge.<\/p>

Lastly, in partnership with Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), two local labels - one ready-to-wear and one\u00a0accessory brand - will be given the grand opportunity to have\u00a0their collections in New York for a four month showroom presentation.<\/p>

Ultimately, as one of the key events in Singapore's fashion scene, Blueprint seeks to position our island state as a leading fashion hub in the region and at the same time promote designers on the global landscape. As\u00a0for the public, you can look forward to Blueprint Emporium ( 14 - 15 May)\u00a0<\/strong>where you can shop from designer\u00a0<\/strong>samples, limited edition items, past season collections and rub shoulders with designers themselves.<\/p>
