Korean singer and member of boyband\u00a0EXO,\u00a0D.O (<strong>Do Kyung Soo<\/strong>) and Hong Kong cantopop star <strong>Ivana Wong<\/strong> are in the run to win the Best Newcomer award. The strong contenders for Best Film include\u00a0<em>Haider\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Ode to my Father.<\/em><\/p> <p>But it's all up to the jury to decide. This year,\u00a0film director and producer,\u00a0<strong>Mabel Cheung Yuen-ting<\/strong>\u00a0will sit as the jury president, while\u00a0Hong Kong's top star,\u00a0<strong>Aaron Kwok Fu-shing\u00a0<\/strong>will be\u00a0the celebrity juror.<\/p> <p><em>\"Each film has its own strengths fuelled by the filmmakers\u2019 passion, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/fashion\/outfit-of-the-day-fashion\/ootd-marie-france-asia-fun-fringe-76707.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creative styles<\/a> and captivating stories,\"<\/em> Mabel said in a statement. <em>\"With the high standard of work on display, we recognise the responsibility and challenge involved in voting for the winners.\u201d<\/em><\/p> <p>This year the award ceremony will be held\u00a0at <strong>The Venetian Macao<\/strong>, one of the world\u2019s\u00a0most popular\u00a0luxury resorts.<\/p> <p>No doubt we're excited to see the winners (and the best dressed on the red carpet of course)!<\/p> <p><em>The 9th annual\u00a0Asian Film Awards\u00a0will be held on 25 March 2015.
