Finally the wait - and the guessing game - is over as the the highly-anticipated 87th Academy Awards took place this morning (Singapore time that is) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.<\/p>

Some of the biggest names in show business flocked to the glamorous event, dressed in their designer\u00a0best and hoping to score high in the style stakes.<\/p>

Frontrunners - both on and off carpet - Emma Stone<\/strong> and Julianne Moore<\/strong> continued their fashionable display<\/a> and the climax at the Oscars<\/a> was worth the wait if slightly unexpected.<\/p>

While Emma has been championing the menswear trend and an edgy style throughout her earlier appearances, she showed up for the Oscars in a stunning\u00a0gold embellished Elie Saab gown which showed her\u00a0softer and extremely feminine side.<\/p>

On the other hand, Julianne Moore looked a vision in a white custom-made Chanel Couture\u00a0dress\u00a0which was a surprising choice since she has been dressed consistently by Givenchy Couture for the past award ceremonies.<\/p>

it wasn't all lost for Givenchy's Riccardo Tiscci though as he got to dress Best Actress contender Rosamund Pike in a stunning custom-made red number which made her one of the best dressed stars<\/a> on the night.<\/p>

Although in general, the fashion triumphs were plenty, we were left unimpressed and a little disappointed with a few of the starlets' choices. Actresses like Jennifer Aniston<\/strong> and Marion Cotillard<\/strong> failed to wow us\u00a0in their uninspiring choices which landed them on our worst dressed list of the night.<\/p>
