Despite the frigid, bone-biting cold in New York City, miraculously the fashion heard survived the first of fashion season at New York Fashion Week<\/a> with little 2 year-old North West throwing tantrums in front rows and Kendall Jenner dominating runways<\/a>. Kardashians and Jenners sure know how to steal the limelight don't they?<\/p>

Beyond that this Fall\/ Winter 2015 season saw a revival of trends because if the 70s inspiration<\/a> was apparent last season, it has now become ubiquitous. Additionally, a lot of the looks gave warmth to the fashion week goers with the\u00a0slew of fur vests, duster coats and layered up options - perhaps to guide New Yorkers on how to amp up their sartorial game the next time the harsh winter comes around.<\/p>

Either way, while we would have to wait for Fall 2015 to hit before flaunting any of these looks on the streets, we could still start creating mood boards - do you do that as well or is that just us? - by seeking out all the covetable trends of the season. We'll just be skipping the obvious fur and turtle necks because let's face it, no one's going to wear them in our heat.<\/p>

That 70s Show<\/span> <\/h2>

As mentioned, designers have officially used up this trend to the maximum but at least it was less literal and kitsch and more\u00a0pleasantly wearable in our current decade.<\/p>

From Zimmerman<\/strong> to Rebecca Minkoff<\/strong> and J. Crew<\/strong>, expect lots of free-spirited dresses, long hemlines, bell sleeves and suede. Doesn't matter whether you were a 70s kid or not because it's time you let your bohemian flag fly high.<\/p>

Culottes\u00a0Craze<\/span> <\/h2>

Honestly, we weren't fans of this particular pant shape when it first hit the runways and we're not quite warming up to it yet. It's just a tricky silhouette to pull off but seeing that it's back once again, we're going to give them a whirl this time. It's all a matter of balancing proportions after all.<\/p>

Victoria Beckham, Tibi\u00a0<\/strong>and Opening Ceremony<\/strong>\u00a0all paraded different culotte silhouettes - so you can find your fit - in brilliant tangerine, monochrome black and pastel shades. Make your pick!<\/p>

Fringe & Feather Benefits<\/span> <\/h2>

Another one of those 70s spin off trend would be the reappearance of fringe and feathers in varying lengths, materials and amount. From Rebecca Minkoff<\/strong> to Rodarte<\/strong>\u00a0and Marchesa<\/strong>, designers clearly had a field day piling on the feathers and fringing up their dresses and skirts. This time, the message was clear because the more it shimmied, the more benefits you'll be bagging - sartorially.<\/p>

Brownie Points<\/span> <\/h2>

We probably have Benedict Cumberbatch and his Sherlock Holmes<\/em> series to thank for the scholastic brown tweed dominating runways. The bookish allure<\/a> was most apparent in Altuzarra<\/strong>, Rodarte<\/strong>, Michael Kors<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ralph Lauren's <\/strong>charming\u00a0jackets.<\/p>

Essentially, the sophisticated outerwear brings to mind more 70s inclinations and by now if anything is clear, it's that your wardrobe could definitely do well by seeking inspiration from That 70s Show<\/em> and all off Jackie's (Mila Kunis) style.<\/p>

Soft Pastels<\/span> <\/h2>

First we have to admit that black retained its throne as the definitive colour of NYFW and while there were bright punctuations of colour in tangerine hues, what swayed from the norm were the injections of Spring pastel shades like lavender and cotton candy pink. Whether its Delpozo's<\/strong> brilliant dreamy rendition or Cushnie et Ochs<\/strong> and Tibi's<\/strong> pleasant hues in the 70s silhouettes, we're definitely all in for reveling in the pastel lane throughout the year.<\/p>
