The wedding day is certainly one occasion when couples can set an unreasonable budget for indulging in extravagance that could make their special day the best of their lives. Good news for the thriving wedding industry and, especially, the bridal wear designers; when it comes to weddings, women can do almost everything to be as lavish as they wish<\/a>.<\/p>

Sati Takhar<\/strong>, a renowned, Birmingham-based designer, revealed this month, the most expensive Asian wedding gown<\/a> ever crafted at the Asiana Bridal Show in London<\/strong>. The designer\u00a0is adored for his bridal creations by customers and some celebrities, such as Rishi Kapoor\u2019s wife Neetu, Sophie Anderton and Mahima Chaudhury.<\/p>

The artist was inspired by looking the last Victoria\u2019s Secret show<\/a> where models wore USD2 million Dream Angels Fantasy Bras (approx SGD 3 million). \u201cThe Asian wedding market is worth a lot. I was inspired to try something similar to the Victoria\u2019s Secret show in bridal wear<\/em>\u201d, he confessed.<\/p>

The lengha-style bridal gown\u00a0-\u00a0a form of ready-made sari\u00a0-\u00a0is handcrafted in white silk. It features an embroidered strapless corset, a full-length flared skirt and a veil to wear around the head and shoulders. For now, it seems pretty standard for a wedding dress, but it is unusual for the following reasons. The decadent dress is fully adorned with diamonds<\/a>, provided by the Indian jewel makers Dhir Diamond Jewellers, and weighs more than 30 kilos - and costs\u00a0a whopping \u00a3100,000 (approx SGD 250,000).<\/p>

It shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise then, that the precious dress was placed inside a glass box, protected by security guards.<\/p>

If you are someone who refuses to compromise for your wedding day and you can afford it, it could be an original idea. As the London jewellery designer Vansh Dhir says: \u201cDiamonds aren\u2019t just meant for wedding rings!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>
