For the last five months, whenever we needed to get our Singapore designer fix, immediately we'll hop on a bus and head down to Orchard Green, where KEEPERS <\/a>is proudly standing on. The space, launched in September 2014, is Singapore's largest and longest retail pop-up to date that seeks to highlight local\u00a0designers and raise their profile among Singaporeans and visitors.<\/p>

Now while the five month showcase came to a close this past Sunday, that's not to say its doors will remain shut\u00a0for long. Instead, the more than positive response has spurred on Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to provide KEEPERS with a further one year stay, from 1st March 2015 to 15 January 2016.<\/p>

Based on commissioned survey findings by STB, more than 85% of those who visited the showcase cited an increase in awareness of local designers and will be more likely to patronise them in the future, while 80% said they would like to see a similar concept on a more permanent basis in the future.<\/p>

\u201cKEEPERS not only spotlights these designers\u2019 talent and craftsmanship on home ground, it also enables them to hone the business management skills essential to their expansion plans,\u201d<\/em> said\u00a0Lynette Lee, CEO of Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFf).<\/p>

So after a two-week refresh, KEEPERS will re-launch as a concept store with over 50 local designers and artisans from across fashion, food, homewares and lifestyle products. Resident designers who will continue their stay include include Aijek<\/a>, Carrie K., Destisaint, Dzojchen, Elohim by Sabrina Goh<\/a>, In Good Company, Lingwu and Whole9Yards.<\/p>

New designers in the mix will include Controlled Commodity and Gin Lee - Singaporean designers who are known overseas. Additionally, shoppers can look forward to a whole new slew of monthly events and workshops that will bring them up close to the designers themselves.<\/p>

With so much in store for Singapore this year - from Singapore Fashion Week<\/a> to a year long celebration of local designers - we're certain that local\u00a0designers are in for quite the thrilling ride and so are shoppers!<\/p>
