This week we can conclude some of fashion's recurring musical chairs <\/a>in the realm of creative directors. Two Italian houses, Gucci<\/strong> and Versus<\/strong> finally put speculations to rest after announcing the names of their creative directors. Namely, former head accessories designer,\u00a0Alessandro Michele<\/strong>, will take over Frida Giannini's<\/strong> position as creative director and Anthony Vaccarello<\/strong> will spin more of his seductive aesthetic for Versus, Versace's sister line.<\/p>

Gucci<\/span> <\/h2>

After Frida Giannini made an early exit at Gucci, the team supposedly decided to present a whole new AW15 menswear collection<\/a> led by\u00a0Alessandro Michele and a young design team in just five days. Now to think about it, it's probably a pre-planned decision to showcase Michele's work on the runway before announcing his promotion. Perhaps this was a way to see how the crowd reacted to his designs and then judge his worthiness to take over the helm? Whichever the case, the speculations\u00a0can stop now because it's not Christopher Kane, Tom Ford or Joseph Altuzarra, it's Alessandro Michele who's now in the plum role of steering ahead one of the most profitable luxury houses. Kudos to Michele!<\/p>

Versus<\/span> <\/h2>

Now for Versus, this couldn't be a more fitting decision to have the adroit hands of Belgian designer, Anthony Vaccarello<\/a> create more unabashed dresses that blur the lines of sexy and vulgar. Vaccarello as one of Paris's young emerging talents will be responsible for both menswear and womenswear, starting with a Fall 2015 collection - only to be unveiled in Fall. Clearly, Versus is still planning to only show collections at the time they're available for purchase rather than one season ahead, as do most labels. The announcement essentially puts an end to the multiple collaborations Donatella Versace has pulled so far, up with the likes of Christopher Kane and JW Anderson. The world can't have too many black provocative\u00a0dresses after all.<\/p>
