Luckily for us, it\u2019s that time of year where we embrace our French side and this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/fashion\/latest-news\/karaoke-party-sing-support-local-fashion-music-62440.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calls for a celebration<\/a>\u2026 and a cake! During this yearly <em>Mardi Gras<\/em> \u2014 or \u2018Fat Tuesday\u2019, we allow ourselves to indulge in the King's Cake\u00a0and the tradition that comes with.<\/p> <p>The cake, also known as\u00a0<em>Gallette des rois, <\/em>is named after the biblical Three Wise Men. If you are unfamiliar with the custom surrounding this treat, allow us to fill you in. Hidden among the flaky layers of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/main-french-bakery-won-hearts-singapore-62539.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">puff pastry<\/a> is a quaint little porcelain token called <em>f\u00e8ve<\/em>. And as each of us receives a slice of the cake, we take a peek to see if the token landed on our plate. With the <em>f\u00e8ve<\/em>, we would become the king or queen of the day entitled to royal treatment from our companions. But this also means the king or queen is bound to\u00a0provide\u00a0the next cake.<\/p> <p>This year, <strong>TWG Tea<\/strong>, the world's finest luxury tea brand,\u00a0introduces a new rendition of the King\u2019s Cake in Singapore.
