While\u00a0South Korea<\/a> has a reputation of being the beauty capital of Asia,<\/a> its authority when it comes to fashion is not to be reckoned with as well. Showing exclusively Korean designers, Seoul Fashion Week<\/strong> is the place for spotting those quirky Korean trends before they hit the shops.<\/p>

Androgynous style and unisex fashion dominated fall\/winter, \u00a0however things are looking much lighter and feminine\u00a0for spring\/summer 2015 season.<\/a> From see-through materials to colourful prints - we look at the top Korean trends which were seen on the catwalks of Seoul Fashion Week SS15.<\/p>

1- Pleats Please<\/span> <\/h2>

Pleating is one of the biggest trend\u00a0for\u00a0this summer. From maxi dresses and skirts at ARCHE<\/strong> and LIE<\/strong> to The Studio K\u00a0<\/strong>and ti-baeg<\/strong>'s knee-length skirts - there was no shortage of flowing pleats on the runways.<\/p>

2- Prints Galore<\/span> <\/h2>

From colourful leopard prints at pushBUTTON<\/strong> and BEETLEBEETLE<\/strong> to urban tropical at LIE<\/strong>, abstract and\u00a0geometric<\/a> at partspARTs<\/strong>, artsy at BIG PARK<\/strong> and kitsch at ARCHE<\/strong>... prints were aplenty this season. We especially loved the London<\/a> telephone prints at ARCHE and BIG PARK's array of funky urban-inspired prints. All in all, the catwalks looked vibrant \u00a0and a far cry for the minimalism which dominated the fall\/winter season.<\/p>

3- White on\u00a0White<\/span> <\/h2>

Perfect to combat the\u00a0summer's heat,\u00a0white was everywhere to be seen and at\u00a0almost every show, there was a few total white looks<\/a> spread here and there. From sleek numbers at ARCHE<\/strong> and Lie Sang Bong<\/strong> to sporty<\/a> and casual at ZE QUUN <\/strong>and\u00a0Cres.\u00a0E\u00a0Dim, <\/strong>the options were aplenty.<\/p>

4- Black and white<\/span> <\/h2>

As evident from this season's shows, this is arguably\u00a0the favourite colour combination for\u00a0Korean designers. Whether in prints or colour blocking separates\u00a0-\u00a0monochrome never goes out of style.<\/p>

5- Feeling Blue<\/span> <\/h2>

If you consider black and white to be 'non-colours' then blue takes the title of being the hottest colour for SS15. Electric shades of blue lit the catwalk especially at SOULPOT STUDIO<\/strong> who used this summer-appropriate shade to its full strength with an array of materials such as chiffon and silk. Among the other\u00a0designers who incorporated this colour into their collections are The Studio K<\/strong>, Lie Sang Bong<\/strong>, KYE<\/strong>, JARRET<\/strong> and ENZUVAN<\/strong>.<\/p>

6- Ruffles<\/span> <\/h2>

We are used to seeing a lot of boxy and androgynous cuts from Korean designers, however, this season looked a lot more feminine and flirty<\/a> thanks to plenty of ruffles. How and What<\/strong>, Mag and Logan<\/strong>, Surreal but Nice<\/strong>, BIG PARK<\/strong> and S=YZ<\/strong> were certainly feeling\u00a0the 'girlie' vibe for summer.<\/p>

7- Sheer Beauty<\/span> <\/h2>

Layering is another trend which dominated the runways in Seoul for SS15. White was the obvious choice for colour and the materials varied from sheer chiffon<\/a> and silk (SOULPOT<\/strong> nailed the trend) to mesh fabric which added a more casual feel as seen at\u00a0ti-baeg<\/strong> show.<\/p>

8- Urban Vibe<\/span> <\/h2>

Seoul designers are known for making great casual street fashion with\u00a0original details - which are easy and fun to wear for everyday. This season we especially loved the urban vibe at RE.D<\/strong> with construction site theme and at Cres. E Dim, LOW CLASSIC <\/strong>and\u00a0BNB12 <\/strong>with an array or fun slogans<\/a>.<\/p>

9- Colour Blocking<\/span> <\/h2>

Mainly seen at LIE<\/strong> and Kaal\u00a0E. Suktae<\/strong>, we loved both designers' takes on colour blocking which showed mature and interesting design process. The choice of colours was spot on in both cases.<\/p>

10- Crop Tops<\/span> <\/h2>

Still going strong, the crop top<\/a> trend doesn't look like it's going anywhere, any time soon. Seoul designers followed in the footsteps of their counterparts in New York<\/a> and London\u00a0and presented some interesting variations on the trend.\u00a0JARRET<\/strong>, KYE<\/strong> and LEYII<\/strong> were definitely all in for showing a hint of\u00a0abs.<\/p>
