Instead of being one-trick ponies, here\u2019s how you can build your very own recipe book to looking sublime, in terms of makeup<\/a>. So, this week we\u2019re dishing out makeup\u00a0cues to put your best face forward, one dab and one stroke at a time. These are essentially a couple of our secrets or rather tips to get your makeup in place no matter what the issue - there\u2019s a trick <\/a>in our bags for everyone.<\/p>

\"I'm not much of an expert when it comes to applying makeup and I usually stick to one method. Since I have got some space to play with on my upper lid, applying eyeshadow is crucial for the success of my look.<\/p>

To create a natural-looking yet not too nude eyes, I always opt for applying 2 slightly shimmery shades of eyeshadow: the darker shade to draw the shape on the outside and a lighter shade to fill in the inside. A very thin brush-drawn line of black shadow to line the upper lid and some mascara complete the look.<\/p>

The best thing? With just the right amount and hues (always opt for natural\/bronze shades), my eyes appear brighter and moderately made up so I can still wear my favourite bold lipstick to finish off the look.\"<\/p>

\u201cTo ensure that your liner on the lower lash line stays put and does not smudge, trace over it (in small dabs) with a similar coloured eye shadow, using an angled eyeliner brush. You may even use a slightly damp brush to get a better hold.\u201d<\/p>

\"Being blessed - or cursed, if you\u2019d rather - with Asian eyes, tampering with our eyelashes as a desperate measure to enlarge then is something we all know only too well. To effectively curl those lashes and make it stay curled, here\u2019s a quick tip, and no, it isn\u2019t jamming your eyelash curler on your eyelashes ten times harder than you already do. Simply use a hair dyer to heat the curler up such that it becomes a temporary heat iron and voila! The resulting effect is more prominent, lasting and efficient.\u00a0\"<\/p>

\"Since I never feel fully dressed up without some eye-liner<\/a>, I shall offer my two-cents worth about enhancing Asian eyes, without overdoing it - a daily-wear make up tip. My eyes are relatively large, but I have a slight epicanthic fold at the end, which most Asian women have and without eyeliner, my eyes can look a little sleepy or puffy. I'm not an advocate for putting liner\u00a0under the eyes, because I feel like it makes my eyes look smaller. For that reason, I use liquid eyeliner (the thinner the brush, the better) on my upper lid only, and paint a dramatic upward sweeping cat-eye that is larger as it extends toward the epicanthic fold. I generally paint a large portion of my eyelid so that the look is dramatic without making me look like I'm attending a gala. If I'm going out, I like to jazz the look up by using a coloured crayon liner<\/a> (blue, gold, pink etc.) and line just above my black eyeliner. This plays the dramatic look down a little and negates the need for you to line your lower lid as well - making you look youthful but sexy. Be sure to put on plenty of mascara after! \"<\/p>
