The giant Chinese search engine, Baidu, has recently announced a rather unusual invention to say the least. They came up with digitally-enhanced chopsticks, called Kuaisou<\/strong>, that can detect contaminated oils in food which could potentially cause food poisoning. At this point, it's worthy to note that in China<\/a>, food scandals have created a climate of mistrust among consumers and thus this\u00a0invention becomes fairly useful in that aspect.<\/p>

\"In the future you will be able to know the origin of the oil or water in your food, whether it has expired and even see the\u00a0nutritional value through Kuaisou chopsticks\u00a0by Baidu\"<\/em>\u00a0explained\u00a0the Director-General of the search engine, Robin Li, at a press conference last\u00a0week.<\/p>

The chopsticks, connected to a smartphone app<\/a> will receive relevant information about the food and transfer the data in real time to the phones. These chopsticks will also be able to measure the pH level, temperature and the number of calories in food<\/a>.
However, for now no price has been announced and the mass production of the chopsticks have not yet been considered.<\/p>
