Whether dainty or over-the-top statement pieces, it's especially hard to resist beautifully designed jewellery. While it's easy to get a quick jewellery fix from fast fashion brands for lower price points, there's nothing quite like owning a unique and distinct piece made meticulously\u00a0by designers. Inject a little handmade goodness<\/a> and you know you've got a piece that will go down generations as an heirloom.<\/p>

For that reason, we're huge supporters of the local designer camp and especially those who create in small, limited quantities, thus ensuring that each design is as special as it gets. One jewellery label that springs into mind is Singapore-based, House of Setu,\u00a0<\/strong>who execute every piece entirely by hand.<\/p>

Helmed by Preeti, Seo Lay and Ritu, the trio design team prides itself for creating traditional Indian-inspired jewellery, laced with modern sensibilities. Typically, it's always a challenge to walk the thin line between being traditional<\/a> and yet contemporary enough to suit present day tastes, but Setu manages to nip the messy predicament right in the bud.<\/p>

Additionally, the label employs exquisite hand embroidery with the finesse of technology<\/a> - such as digitalising prints on individual sequins - to achieve quaint and thoughtful creations for women who are seeking to be different in a crowd.<\/p>

With six brilliant collections under their belt, it was hard to choose our favourites but alas we narrowed down to three - Fun with Wool<\/strong>, Glamourlicious<\/strong> and Beads of Aurora<\/strong>.<\/p>

Fun with Wool is a jovial interplay between metal discs and wool yarns. Based on varied geometrical combinations, the series contains a selection of necklaces, bracelets earrings ranging from minimalistic to complex styles. Glamourlicious on the other hand is on all counts big and bold with exuberant splashes of colours dominating the pieces. This series would definitely appeal to those looking to make a statement. \u00a0Lastly, inspired by the stunning Northern Lights, the line up in Beads of Aurora\u00a0exudes a calming and graceful aura. Crafted in a mix of\u00a0oxidized metal, leather<\/a>, sequins, beads and stones, ultimately the mastery of skill speaks for itself.<\/p>

It's essentially labels like these that keep us going in our pursuit for brilliant independent designers<\/a>. And\u00a0for days when you're rummaging through your jewellery drawer<\/a> in hopes of\u00a0unearthing a unique piece but unfortunately reach nothing, keep House of Setu in mind.<\/p>
