Arguably one of the longest standing prints ever known to the fashion world, Tartan has evolved an infinite amount of times ever since it was revolutionized in the 18th century - not that we're complaining of course.<\/p>

From tartan kilt skirts worn by Scottish soldiers in the past to pencil skirts, flannel shirts and oversized mohair coats seen in present day street wear, and not forgetting its dominance on the Fall 2013 runway<\/a> especially from Ralph Lauren<\/a> and Vivienne Westwood, tartan has clearly proven itself to be fashion staple and a must-have in every wardrobe.<\/p>

Therein the gridiron pattern lies a versatility like no other, enabling it to transcend through centuries and being reinvented with elements of seasonal trends - needless to say, we've been loving every single adaptation of this timeless print ever since it began as a symbol of rebellion in 1765.<\/p>

For its comeback in Fall\/Winter 2014, there are 5 possible ways of incorporating tartan into your ensemble:<\/p>

Casual off-duty<\/strong>: Highly favoured by celebrities, this look comprises of a loose basic top, a pair of distressed jeans and trusty ol' Chuck Taylors, made complete by tying a tartan shirt across your waist. Accessories<\/a>? A Starbucks cup.<\/p>

Print on print<\/strong>: If just <\/em>tartan is too tame for the print<\/a> animal in you, go bold contrasting it against possible prints such as florals<\/a>, animal prints, monochromatic checks, or gold baroque motifs and the list goes on and on.
