Black will always reign supreme in terms of eyeliner colour<\/a> \u2013 it is definitive, striking and bold and well simply a classic. However, as with all other innovative beauty products<\/a>, beauty trends are never lagging behind and the one trend that has sneaked up upon us is pastel eyeliner<\/strong>.<\/p>

Pastels have not only been dominating the runways for spring and summer clothes<\/a>, they\u2019ve been taking over our eyelids too. It may seem a little odd to have lilac or baby blue streaks across our eyes but the result is a surprising eye-opening look with a refreshing bolt of colour.<\/p>

The challenge to wearing pastel makeup is evident though: How does one wear it without looking like Kindergarten children just went all over your face with a piece of chalk?<\/p>

A key tip to follow would be to keep the overall complexion minimal and fairly simple, meaning, skip out on dramatic blush and lashes. Then we have to tackle matching pastels shades with your skin tone<\/a>. As a rule of thumb, if you have reddish undertones<\/strong>, skip pale pink and opt for a mint shade instead to neutralize the redness.<\/p>

For olive skintones<\/strong>, go for a light orange or peachy shade and for darker complexions<\/strong>, go bold with lavender, lilac or baby blue. Lastly in terms of texture, look for one that has a smooth satin finish to avoid a frightening chalk-ish look \u2013 that\u2019s something we need to avoid at all costs!<\/p>
