Pimples are a pain and a half. Just when you thought you'd left all your pimples issues<\/a> behind in your teens, they seem to pop up when you least expect them to, in adulthood, in the most uncomfortable and obvious of places on your face. This can create huge problems, especially when you\u2019ve got something big planned and you need to look your absolute best. Heck, even if you didn\u2019t have something planned, who\u2019d want a big fat pimple on their face anyhow? We have come up with 5 great home remedies<\/strong> to solve your pimple problems once and for all \u2013 from the quickie solutions\u00a0to those which have a gradual effect but are ideal for long-term prevention of these nasty, painful zits.<\/p>

1)\u00a0\u00a0 Cinnamon and Honey Mask<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

This ayurvedic remedy has worked wonders for as long as it has been around. Cinnamon and honey<\/a>, when ground together, work as a pimple<\/a>-combatting facemask, that takes effect more gradually than other remedies, but does so with zero harmful effects. Roast some cinnamon sprigs (not necessary but might make it more effective) and finely grind them up. Mix the ground cinnamon<\/a> with honey until a paste is formed. Apply the mask on your face and let sit for 15 minutes. Do this everyday for 6 days and you will see a marked difference in your skin condition.<\/p>

2)\u00a0\u00a0 Aspirin Tablets Paste<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

This is a good home remedy as the effect on your pimples is seen pretty quickly (a day or two). It helps pimples dry up quickly so that they shrivel and drop off by the next day - just in time for your big date or event. Choose the most potent of your aspirin tablets \u2013 ibuprofen is quite an ideal choice for this. If ibuprofen isn\u2019t easily available you could use any other over-the-counter aspirin. (NOTE: Aspirin and Paracetamol are quite different and work differently with pimples. Aspirin, being stronger, works better as a pimple remedy). Simply crush 2 or 3 aspirin tablets (this might be a little tricky but you could use a stone grinder to make the job easier) and add a tablespoon or two of water, until a fine paste has formed. Apply the paste ONLY on the problem areas and let dry. Because aspirin is strong, it is not advisable for you to apply it like a face mask<\/a>, especially if your pimples are only concentrated to one area. Wash off once dry. Repeat the process 3 times a week until your pimples have gone.<\/p>

3)\u00a0\u00a0 Basil Leaf Paste<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

This age-old ayurvedic remedy<\/a> is an excellent one for reducing scarring caused by pimples, preventing them, for getting rid of blackheads and promoting better skin. Buy some basil leaves from the local market and immerse a handful in a small amount (2\/3 teaspoons) of luke warm water until a paste is formed. Apply the paste to the problem areas, or as a face mask (you will probably require more for a mask and you can roughly gauge the amount), everyday for 4 or 5 days.<\/p>

4)\u00a0\u00a0 Fluoride Toothpaste<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

Some people discourage\u00a0this method, calling it unreliable and painful. For others, it is the quickest solution for getting rid of that problematic large pimple, sitting mockingly big and proud on their forehead. Rid yourself of this bump by grabbing some fluoride toothpaste (Colgate is ideal). Make sure it is the regular kind, not the gel kind, and squeeze a small dollop onto your clean finger, or a cotton bud. Apply the toothpaste directly to your pimples and rub on gently in a circular motion. Let the toothpaste dry and then wash off. It is also okay for you to sleep with the toothpaste on for added effect.<\/p>

5)\u00a0\u00a0 Nutmeg & Milk Paste<\/strong><\/span> <\/h5>

Not only is nutmeg delicious and a great ingredient for baked goodies (and our favourite nutella), it is a bonafide pimple buttkicker. Finely grind some nutmeg \u2013 you can average out how much you\u2019ll need, according to how many pimples you have. If you want to use it as a face mask, grind 4 or 5 nutmegs and 2 or 3 tablespoons of milk, until a slightly thick paste has formed. Apply the paste onto the problem areas or as a mask for 10-15 minutes. Do this as many times in a week as you would like and watch this natural remedy<\/a> take action.<\/p>
