Prepare the eye<\/span> <\/h2> <p>- On the lid: With a powder brush or an eyeshadow base.<\/p> <p>- Below the eye: sprinkle a generous amount of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/beauty\/whats-new\/givenchy-prisme-libre-poudre-premiere-loose-powders-12276.html\">loose powder <\/a>under the eye; this will act as a \u201ccushion\u201d that catches the particles that escape while doing your makeup.\u00a0Once the make-up done, remove everything with a large brush.<\/p>  <h2> <span>2. Powder after<\/span> <\/h2> <p>If you use a cream or gel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/beauty\/whats-new\/colour-crush-eyeshadow-from-the-body-shop-2815.html\">eyeshadow<\/a>, make a habit of powdering it over to set the colour in place.<\/p>  <h2> <span>3. Control the slips<\/span> <\/h2> <p>It happens to the best of us, traces of mascara or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/beauty\/beauty-buys\/top-5-eyeliners-19486.html\">eyeliner <\/a>may distort the makeup if you fail to remove it properly. The right way: Use a cotton swab soaked with makeup remover.<\/p>  <h2> <span>J\u00e9r\u00f4me Sandevoir\u2019s additional tricks:<\/span> <\/h2> <p>- With a dark eye shadow: place it as close as possible to the lashes and apply it using a brush, darker towards the end (avoid applying it as a flat colour across the eyelid).<\/p> <p>- The brush: Use one side of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/beauty\/tried-and-tested\/killer-question-clean-makeup-brushes-17647.html\">brush <\/a>tip to apply the colour, and the opposite side to blend; this prevents making a mess on the eye.<\/p> <p>- The Golden Rule:\u00a0if you use liquid or gel eye makeup, you should always wait a bit before blinking, in order to allow the makeup to set.\u00a0The right way: lift your chin, eyes half-closed and fixed upon a point on the mirror.\u00a0This also applies for the application of mascara.<\/p>  <p><em>Alexandra Raillan<\/em><\/p>   ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Smudgy and runny eye makeup...what could possibly be worse?
