It was wicked and it was beautiful.<\/p>

From the first show that featured six designers at the ongoing Philippine Fashion Week<\/a>, Jerome Salaya Ang presented the most captivating collection.<\/p>

For Spring\/Summer season where it is inevitable to expect bright colours and various prints to be predominantly used by designers in their collections, Jerome did it \u2013 but in his own way.<\/p>

Without abandoning his usual source of inspiration - mythology, unworldly, and whatnots (for the past seasons, he showcased collections that were inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins and the Goddess Persephone) \u2013 the designer has managed to portray a summery mood albeit totally in tune with his usual aesthetics. This artistry was reflected in the styling and the overall mood of the show: Models' faces were covered with gold veils; The clothes were paraded in an eerie soundtrack such as piano accompaniment, and recitation that heightened the mystical aura during the show.<\/p>

It is also noteworthy that Jerome's collection was the most experimental in terms of silhouettes. A white frock with gold and silver glitter accents, whose sleeves came in an unconventional form was the opening look. Flouncy long dresses with safari and floral prints were also given an added dimension by layering fabrics. In one garment, a moulded material was extended in the front giving it a different construction. And of course, comprising most of the collection were pieces that have intricate shapes and patterns - something that the designer has been consistent in throughout his past shows. Accessories were nil except for a few looks that used a belt to cinch the waist.<\/p>

Jerome who has been designing for 9 years named his collection \"After the End\", a narration of Noah's Ark that the designer has envisioned to be happening in a future world. Jerome studied fashion design at Raffles International College in Bangkok and The Fashion Institute in Manila. He has been showcasing his works at the Philippine Fashion Week for the past 8 seasons.<\/p>

Certainly, this season, Jerome Salaya Ang showcased another successful instalment in his design anthology. And as long as his works evolve, he remains one of the Philippines\u2019 designers to watch!<\/p>

Philippine Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014 <\/a>is currently being held at SMX Convention Centre until October 27, 2013.<\/em><\/p>
