I don\u2019t know quite how it happened but Fall is once again upon us. However, now that I reside in South East Asia, the idea of falling red and yellow foliage doesn\u2019t quite resonate. Why? Well, because I live in the tropics so darn close to the equator that it can feel like an literal line in the sand that says I can only wear summer outfits.<\/p>

But I don\u2019t think we should let this close proximity to the equator line equal a flat line for our fashions. For our Asian friends residing in Northern Hemisphere enjoying full and temperate seasons, this article is still relevant to you. Here is my list of ten fashion tips and items I\u2019m coveting for this Fall.<\/p>

1. Work the military trend<\/span> <\/h2>

Think buttons, khaki, trenches, double breasted blazers and the like. For me Current\/Elliott\u2019s Lone Soldier coated cotton army-green jacket <\/a>(USD446.01) is on my most wanted list. At ease soldier!<\/p>

2. Slate is great<\/span> <\/h2>

Monochrome certainly had it\u2019s day in the spotlight and right now it\u2019s all about greyscale. Fashion heavy weights (think 3.1 Phillip Lim, Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang) have been rolling out the greys on the catwalks of late. It seems that charcole is the new nude. Helmut Lang\u2019s Voltage fine knit ribbed micro modal tank<\/a>\u00a0(USD86.56) is tr\u00e8s cool.<\/p>

3. Bag yourself a box clutch<\/span> <\/h2>

Subtle Autumn sophistication can be found with a box clutch. It\u2019s a neat way to counteract the extra fabric that usually comes with Fall territory. Object of desire for me is Olympia Le-Tan Edelweiss embroidered story book clutch<\/a> (USD1758).<\/p>

4. Dabble in the distressed denim<\/span> <\/h2>

A skinny leg jean is my absolute favourite staple piece in the \u2018drobe. Season after season it survives \u2013 not only does it have staying power but will look complimentary to most tops, blouses, vests \u2013 whatever you put on above the belt! Try Acne Skin 5 pocket mid-rise skinny jeans<\/a>\u00a0(USD237.06).<\/p>

5. Oh olive!<\/span> <\/h2>

There\u2019s nothing wrong with a muted version of your favourite vibrant summer shades. From red to burgundy, from yellow to mustard and the answer to emerald is olive. This is your must-have colour for Fall. Tory Burch gets it right with a mid-length Gelina beaded silk dress<\/a> (1744.58).<\/p>

6. Geometric prints please<\/span> <\/h2>

Nothing says \u201cfashion statement\u201d like some good old geometric designs. Repetition is the key to this look in my mind \u2013 double up those prints from top to toe and have people seeing double. Hit up Anna Sui<\/a> for a playful silk-crepe tunic <\/a>(USD579.89).<\/p>

7. Totally tux<\/span> <\/h2>

The tuxedo look is entirely current. Women in a man\u2019s world they say. Whatever. I just want the suit! Rag & Bone<\/a> offers an incredible tuxedo inspired leather trimmed crepe jacket<\/a>\u00a0(USD573.54). Yum!<\/p>

8. Boot up<\/span> <\/h2>

My pick is the Isabel Marant scarlet leather, suede and calf hair heel<\/a> (USD1563). To sum up this shoe, it\u2019s the sneaker wedge meets the classic boot.<\/p>

9. Can\u2019t go wrong with a cuff<\/span> <\/h2>

A little bling never hurts anyone or an outfit for that matter. Chunky is perfect for Fall and oh so complimentary to the aforementioned trends. Why not try out the gorgeous Fendi gold-tone and leather cuff<\/a> (USD769) \u2013 I know I want to!<\/p>

10. Time for tortoise<\/span> <\/h2>

One of the most classic shades are of the tortoiseshell variety. Combine that with a slight cat-eye shape and you have my most perfect pair of shades! Thierry Lasry\u2019s round-frame acetate sunglasses<\/a> (USD511.50) are to die for.<\/p>
