What to name your newborn child might just be one of the biggest parenting dilemmas<\/a> you'll encounter early on as a parent. Some names might seem too stuffy or dated, while others remind you of someone you are not particularly fond of (we all have them). Well, here's a solution: you can now let artificial intelligence decide that for you.<\/p>

A Neural Network that Determines Future Baby Names?<\/span> <\/h2>

Introducing Nate Parrott:\u00a0<\/strong>a coder and student at Brown University, <\/strong>who devised a way to predict baby names of the future.\u00a0Without getting too much into the science of it, Parrott trained a neural network (a computer that mimics the human brain and nervous system<\/a>) to learn 7,500 of the most common American baby names and to give each name a numerical representation called an\u00a0'embedding'. With the baby names now represented as numbers, Parrott is able to\u00a0manipulate them by either adding or subtracting - even multiplying - them to create futuristic sounding names.<\/p>

While popular baby names today include Bryan, Isabelle or Michelle, the baby name landscape in 2100 looks slightly different, according to Parrott's neural network. For one, how does Aaaort<\/em> sound for your bouncing baby boy? Or perhaps\u00a0Cerreleaa<\/em> for your cherub-faced little girl? Or frankly, why even bother with vowels when you can have a name like Hhrsrrrrrr<\/em>? We have to say though - in a world where celebrity babies<\/a> are being named after directional bearings<\/a>, fruits, and other truly bizarre permutations of names, anything's in the realm of possibility these days. If you want a baby name that's truly ahead of the curve, take inspiration from Parrott's list of 20 futuristic baby names<\/strong> below!<\/p>
