With the likes of Open Farm Community quickly becoming a dining hot spot in the city, it\u2019s needless to say that farm-to-table dining is a growing food trend in Singapore.\u00a0<\/a>Which is perhaps\u00a0timely that this July, Singapore will welcome SPROUT, its largest farm-to-table festival yet.<\/p>

It's essentially the ultimate farmer's market for farm-to-table enthusiasts, bringing together over 50 names in our local sustainable agriculture community and dining scene.\u00a0These include local farmers like Citizen Farm\u00a0to esteemed Singaporean chefs like Violet Oon, who will be sharing delightful recipes via a\u00a0live cooking demo.<\/p>

The inaugural festival, which will happen between 7 to 8 July at Singapore Suntec Convention Centre, will feature over 50 specially curated local exhibitors, which include farm growers, urban farmers, artisanal and specialty food<\/a>, pop-up restaurants, and more.<\/p>

Farm-to-table dining<\/strong> (alternatively known as farm-to-fork) refers to the restaurant practice of sourcing all its foods directly from a specific farm, rather than going through a store, market or distributor. More often than not, these restaurants have established relationships with the farms itself, and purchase the quality and fresh produce from them.<\/p>

The festival, which is organised by Suntec itself, hopes to bridge the gap between food producers and consumers through a fresh and fun way.\u00a0Sustainable dining and farm-to-table concepts might seem like a niche idea here, so if you're passionate about honest ingredient sourcing and sustainable farming initiatives, SPROUT is no doubt the festival to be.<\/p>
