Then you remember: your brother\u2019s wife\u2019s sister\u2019s daughter is coming to Singapore this weekend, which means you\u2019re playing tourist guide. <em>Great<\/em>.<\/p> <p>This role (if you will) can be rather stressful. You may be short of ideas on how to keep visitors entertained, with little time to coordinate a schedule for them. But don\u2019t fret, we\u2019ve got you covered. Here is a complete <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/destination-accomplished\/australia-destination-accomplished\/travel-guide-melbourne-238995.html\">two-day itinerary<\/a> for you to cherry pick off, and show your visitor(s) a great time.<\/p> <p><strong>DAY ONE<\/strong><\/p> <p><strong>Morning<\/strong><\/p> <p>Start the day early and take your guests out for a local breakfast, <strong>kaya toast and a kopi<\/strong> at any hawker centre or local breakfast spot near your place. Jump on the MRT and head to Marina Bay area. Where are you headed? <strong>Gardens by the Bay<\/strong> of course! Be sure you check out the <strong>OCBC Sky-walk and Cloud Forest.<\/strong><\/p> <p><strong>Afternoon<br \/> <\/strong><\/p> <p>Once that\u2019s over you\u2019ll be pretty hungry, right? Stop by a hawker centre close by to give them a taste of local delights \u2013 we opt for <strong>chicken rice<\/strong>, of course. Although <strong>Satay by the bay<\/strong> only a stone\u2019s throw away.<\/p> <p>After lunch is when things get interesting, it\u2019s time to hop on board the <strong>Singapore Flyer<\/strong>. No doubt, this is the ultimate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/destination-accomplished\/5-less-touristy-places-in-istanbul-9987.html#item=1\">tourist<\/a> attraction, but it really does have some beautiful, panoramic views of the city!<\/p> <p>Once you get off, make your way across the river and head to <strong>Merlion park.<\/strong> Okay, we were wrong, THIS is the most touristic stop - but a must! If you\u2019re a really good friend you can even take a picture of your visitor pretending to drink the water coming from the Merlion \u2013 you know the one. It\u2019s the middle of the day, you guys must be boiling! Pick up a local <strong>ice cream sandwich<\/strong> to cool down as well as show off another foodie fave of Singapore.<\/p> <p><strong>Evening<\/strong><\/p> <p>The sun will be setting soon, and what better way to spend it than on a <strong>rooftop with awesome views<\/strong>. Head to the<strong> Lantern rooftop bar at the Fullerton Hotel,<\/strong> to watch the sun set over the skyline. Hang around because at 8pm there\u2019s <strong>Spectra, the light and water show<\/strong> that takes over the entire Marina Bay area, and Lantern Bar has the best view.<\/p> <p>Rather than cash out on a pricey dish at the hotel, head over to <strong>La Pau Sat,<\/strong> one of Singapore\u2019s most famous street food hubs within an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/culture\/singapore-events\/news-and-activities\/7-hiking-routes-to-try-singapore-296296.html#item=1\">old colonial building.<\/a> Expect never ending rows of hawkers barbequing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/staff-picks-marie-france-asias-favourite-local-food-118956.html#item=1\">satays<\/a>, as well as other local delights, aka heaven. Bon Apetite!<\/p> <p>Unless you\u2019re in a food coma, it\u2019s time to party. Head to <strong>Club street for countless cool bars<\/strong> to choose from, or stick around Marina Bay and head to <strong>Ca La Vi,<\/strong> the club on top of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/now-or-never\/travel-news\/marina-bay-sands-most-instagrammed-hotel-world-290669.html#item=1\">Marina Bay Sands.<\/a> (P.S Wednesday is ladies night!) If clubbing is not your thing, you could always head to the <strong>Prudential<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Marina Bay Carnival.<\/strong> It\u2019s the size of three football stadiums and open until April 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and they take card! Score!<\/p> <p><strong>DAY TWO<\/strong><\/p> <p><strong>Morning<\/strong><\/p> <p>Hangover? What hangover! Rise and shine sleepy folk, it\u2019s your last day in Singapore. If you\u2019re feeling super fresh, head on a morning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/culture\/singapore-events\/news-and-activities\/7-hiking-routes-to-try-singapore-296296.html#item=1\">hike<\/a> to <strong>Macritchie Reservoir Park. The Tree-top walk<\/strong> there is supposed to be a one of a kind experience, and is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/destination-accomplished\/greenest-cities-266640.html#item=1\">refreshing change<\/a> after yesterday\u2019s city buzz.<\/p> <p>What better way to reward a hike than with some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/food\/hot-spots\/recommended-spots\/unique-prata-flavours-singapore-278831.html#item=1\">prata<\/a>? Head to the <strong>Roti-Prata House<\/strong>, a low-key but super good spot that is right in front of Macritchie. Oddly enough, this is where many healthy hikers end up.<\/p> <p><strong>Afternoon<\/strong><\/p> <p>We have two options here. For those that love high-end shopping, there is no better way to spend your day than on <strong>Orchard Road<\/strong>. We recommend <strong>ION Orchard, Tang Plaza and Plaza Singapura<\/strong>. If <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/culture\/from-us-to-you\/singapore-shopping-your-guide-to-tiong-bahru-87765.html#item=1\">shopping<\/a> isn\u2019t your thing head to <strong>Haw Par Villa.<\/strong> This weird and wonderful place is home to 1000 statues that retell the ancient Chinese folk tales. Expect statues such as: A woman breast-feeding a woman while children do sit ups and peel oranges. I know, don\u2019t ask, but definitely go.<\/p> <p><strong>Evening<\/strong><\/p> <p>You must be tired. Go unwind with your last and most well-deserved local dish: <strong>Chilli Crab<\/strong>. We recommend <strong>Long Beach Seafood Restaurant <\/strong>or <strong>Jumbo Seafood restaurant.<\/strong> Your trip to Singapore wouldn\u2019t be complete without that. Now, once again you have the lighter responsible option: Head to <strong>Night Safari<\/strong>, a local <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariefranceasia.com\/travel\/destination-accomplished\/5-unusual-safaris-5352.html\">wildlife spotting<\/a> favourite. Or, finish off your trip in style, and head to <strong>Zouk -<\/strong> Singapore\u2019s most notorious club on the scene.<\/p> <p>Whatever you do, enjoy it.
