Style Upgrade: 8 Fashion trends to officially bid farewell to in your 30s

Wondering if you can still rock that Herve Leger mini-dress from 2007?

Low-rise jeans

    Low-rise jeans
Hate to break it to you- but it isn't 2009 anymore. That ship has long since sailed. Besides, low-waisted jeans have the unfortunate side effect of making your hips look gargantuan! Unless you're a teenager or Beyonce, low-rise jeans just aren't a good idea.

    Graphic Tees
We get it: Donning one of those loose-fitting graphic tees felt like a badge of honour- a symbol of youth and rebellion that made you feel like a non-conforming bad girl going against the grain. Well, unfortunately, these tees will do you no favours when you're 30. Dressing like a teenager will invariably put a damper on your image and reputation. Keep the graphic tees for loungewear as far as possible.

    Tattered sneakers
Be it heels or loafers, we've all got that quintessential pair of shoes that ooze comfort and good vibes for us. But if yours is a pair of ratty sneakers, you ought to rethink your shoe choice. Purchase a pair of simple white vans if your sneakers seem a little on the rugged side.
  • 4/8
    sky-high heels
We love heels as much as the next girl, but wearing a pair of 6- inches when you're 30, seems rather excessive. Believe it or not, but you can look cute and trendy using flats or low-heels too!
  • 5/8
    ill-fitting clothing
The cut and fit of your clothing can reveal a lot more of yourself than you think. When wearing ill-fitted clothing, one would appear to be sloppy, underdressed and uncultured. Let the world appreciate the stylish yet classy woman you know you are inside, by choosing proper fits that accentuate your curves.

    Mini dresses
Mini dresses were acceptable when you were in high school and even in college, where you partied the nights away, but past the age of 30, they may not seem like such a good idea now.
  • 7/8
    Mini skirts
It would be wise to avoid mini- anything once you hit the big 3-0. There are a host of other ways to rev up the sex appeal without showing all your assets. Stay classy ladies.

    Tube tops
Ahhh... tube tops: perfect for a sun-dappled day at the beach....if you're like 20. Not that we have anything against tube tops, but these mid-riff baring tops are entirely inappropriate for a woman over 30. If you're an avid tube top lover, try pairing it with a blazer or denim jacket for a classy yet trendy alternative!

So you've finally turned the big 3-0. For most women, this is a pivotal stage in their lives where you began to question things like your life goals, family planning, career opportunities and... whether you should still ought to be wearing that crop top from 2007? (We're kidding).

Nonetheless, you'll find that as soon as you hit your thirties, your style naturally evolves. Long gone is the need to feverishly adhere to trends that come and go; instead you're starting to gravitate towards classics and staples. You might also find yourself decluttering your closet of accumulated clothing pieces since the heyday of your twenties and wondering if it's still age-appropriate from you to be rocking that tube top (it's not).

If you're wondering what fashion trends you should officially bid adieu to you now that you're in your swinging thirties, head up to our gallery above! P.S. Of course, there are no rules in fashion, so if that bandage mini-dress still tickles your (fashion) fancy, be our guest.
