Germans are typically known for being a brunt force to be reckoned with in the technological and motoring arena so when it comes to beauty, not many are aware of its equally remarkable prowess. For instance, there's the German beauty brand, Alcina who has managed to craft a delicate balance between science, functionality and versatility, to deliver a rather potent solution to skincare and cosmetics.

Inspired by femininity where even their name comes from the female-centered opera, 'Alcina' by George Handel, the beauty brand was founded by Dr Kurt Wolff on the sole purpose of providing 'caring makeup'. The specially coined term refers to products that not only beautify from the outside but also consists of skincare properties, and improves one's skin condition from the inside.

Recently launched on online retailer, Luxola, it is now that much easier to obtain our bite of the German beauty market - within a couple of clicks away in fact.
