Out in Singapore Exhibition

Why: A sister project of “Out in Japan”, Out In Singapore is a project spearheaded by internationally-renowned fashion photographer and film director Leslie Kee. He will be displaying 150 new portraits of LGBTQ individuals at The Projector to humanize the queer community in Singapore. More information here.

The Love Ball

Why: The celebration of inclusivity still continues at Hard Rock Cafe, which will be hosting The Love Ball, an event that showcases the diverse talents of our LGBTQ community. Hosted by Pangina Heals from Drag Race Thailand, this event is an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ icons who paved the way for the freedom to love and express yourself no matter your identity. Sentosa Grillfest

Why: As part of this year’s Sentosa Grill Fest, Siloso Beach will transform itself into a kilometre-long beachside street food fiesta featuring Sentosa's dining establishments and Singapore's very own 2nd-generation Hawkers! Tuck into both local and international dishes that run the gamut from Jumbo Hokkien Noodles and Traditional Naan Platter to old-school calamansi drinks with sour plum, and more! ArtScience on Screen: Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story

Why: Celebrate #GirlPower circa the 1940s by heading over to the Art Science Museum to watch their Hedy Lamarr documentary! Hedy Lamarr was truly an icon in the sense that she combined incredible brains and beauty. Not only was she also known as the ‘most beautiful woman in the world’, she was also forward-thinking and technologically-brilliant. Get this: her ‘frequency hopping’ patent forms the basis for some of the most pervasive technologies we use today, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and wireless telephones! More information here.

Singapore Restaurant Festival

Why: Missed this year's Singapore Restaurant Week? Well, fret not because Singapore Restaurant Festival is back in town! Be it an emergency ice-cream run at Udders, or a fancy date night at Chef’s Table by Stephan Zoisl, there’s definitely a restaurant for your picking. Be sure to participate in the lucky draws happening all-festival-round and win irresistible prizes and dining vouchers as you dine in any of their participating restaurants! The festival kicks off this July with a ‘Japanese and Heritage’ cuisine theme, followed by ‘Western and Korean’ in August, and concluding with delicious ‘Chinese and Asian’ bites in September. Some newcomers this year include Bedrock Bar & Grill, Dean & Deluca, Punjab Grill, The Marmalade Pantry, Pizza Maru, Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, Pince & Pints, Fat Cow, The Flying Squirrel, Two Hana and Seoul in a Sandwich among others, so make sure you check out their menus as well!

Pink Dot

Why: The largest LGBTQ event of the year is finally upon us! Head down to Hong Lim Park to participate in advocating for inclusiveness and the right for everyone, straight and queer, to love. Not a PR or Singapore citizen and can’t make it to the main event? Not to fret, as PinkFest has been hosting pop up events since the beginning of July and will continue to do so until the 21st.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Why: Live, laugh, love! Australia’s largest and best-loved comedy festival is returning for another year, bringing with it a cast of seriously funny comedians. Head down to Hong Lim Park to celebrate Pink Dot, the biggest LGBTQ event of the year, to advocate for inclusiveness and awareness for LGBTQ individuals in Singapore.
