Faux fur, tailored coats, and of course - layering. These are just some of the reasons why we love winter fashion (don't get slighted, summer dresses).

If there's anything that our favourite streetstyle stars can perfect, it's the art of layering. Even in the coldest of temperatures, which may have the more sartorially-challenged among us reaching for our (admittedly less attractive) fleece jackets, they're still every inch the fashionable vision, with their faux fur collars, over-the-knee-boots and masterful layering.

The Six Commandments of Stylish Winter Layering

Layer different outerwears. Pair the on-trend athleisure-inspired track jackets and puffer coats together for extra sartorial points.
Belt your coats. Simply cinching your coat around your waist with a belt can breathe new life to your outfit and almost feel like you're wearing a brand new one.
Play around with scarves. Beyond switching up the textures and styles, you can also consider wrapping it around your head (a la turban style).
Belt your scarves too! Rather than letting your scarf hang loose and free, hold it down to your chest by cinching it with a belt. It's an easy, effortless way to keep you looking chic and polished.
Embrace faux fur. Let's face it: winter is the only time where you can wear faux fur. For an instant outfit upgrade, throw on on a fur vest or stole over your winter coat, a statement fur topper, or fur accent pieces like fur collars and mittens. Bonus? They'll keep you extra warm too.
Rock scene-stealing boots. It's no secret: chic winter style comes down to a great pair of winter boots. Opt for over-the-knee-boots with a short dress, or pair your favourite ankle beets with cuffed jeans.
